With the plan marked on the skin, the doctor numbs the area with a local anaesthetic and lays out the instruments on a sterile tray.
The cyst is then opened, its contents are released and the sac is carefully removed, following the outline drawn at the start.
Good planning means a cleaner wound, fewer surprises and a much lower chance of the cyst coming back in the same place.
Afterwards the area is stitched or packed and covered, and the patient goes home with simple instructions for keeping it clean.
Plan first, then act, and things usually go much more smoothly. The videos below show large back cysts being removed step by step.
