Sometimes the best thing we can do is clear away the old and start with a clean slate.
For the skin on the upper back, that clean slate often means removing years of built-up blackheads and small cysts.
Blackheads form in open pores that fill with oil and dead skin cells, and the back has some of the largest pores on the body.
Because we cannot see our own back, these blackheads can collect for a long time before anyone notices how many there are.
Some of them grow into large plugs, and a few may close over and become small cysts that sit just under the skin.
